OCTOBER 15, 2010

The commission notes that Diablo valley college has completed significant amounts of good work to address the deficiencies noted in the Commission’s action letter of January 2010. The college is encouraged to continue its work to fully address all deficiencies.*

In our new governance structure, the Institutional Planning Committee was charged with “Oversees college efforts to follow-up on issues identified in the Accreditation self-study and responses to recommendations from visiting teams.” The Planning Committee, augmented with the former chairs of Work Groups 1, 2, and 3, will form the “Steering Committee” for the October 15, 2010 Accreditation Follow Up Report. This group will be facilitated by Ted Wieden our Accreditation Liaison Officer. We are pulling from the visiting team’s report, the various tasks that we still need to do and will be sharing all that information in a planning format.

The Follow-Up report of October 15, 2010 should demonstrate the institution’s resolution of the recommendations below:

Recommendation 1: Decision Making Roles and
Recommendation 7: Communication and Collaboration

Recommendation 2: College Wide Planning

Recommendation 3: Program Review

The accredited status of the institution continues during the probation period.*
