Dental Laboratory Technology

Associate in science degree in Dental Laboratory Technology (Datatel code AS.DENLB.D)
The purpose of this program is to prepare students for gainful employment in the dental technology industry.

SLO#1. be employed as dental technicians in the commercial lab industry, as well as serve as in-house dental technicians in a dentist's office.

SLO#2. demonstrate knowledge in the fabrication of a variety of dental inlays, onlays, and ceramic restorations.

SLO#3. comprehend and interpret dental terminology as well as the dentist's prescriptions.

SLO#4. demonstrate skills in the development prostodontic appliances and perform denture relines and a variety of dental repairs.

SLO#5. demonstrate knowledge in cusp-to-fossae relationships and concepts of occlusions and malocclusions.

SLO#6. demonstrate knowledge in the manipulation of a variety of gypsum products such as plaster, die stone, yellow stone, and investment products such as high heat and low heat.
