WorkAbility III

What is WorkAbility III?  

Workability III is a partnership between the State Department of Rehabilitation (DOR) and Diablo Valley College. WorkAbility III provides job placement and retention services to DOR-eligible Diablo Valley College students with disabilities who want to go to work.

Who is Eligible?  
DVC students with disabilities- To participate in WorkAbility III, current or former DVC students with disabilities must first become eligible for DOR services. Our staff can refer you to a local DOR office that will determine eligibility.  After eligibility is established, the student's DOR Counselor can refer him/her to WorkAbility III. 

DOR clients-Current DOR consumers may also qualify to receive WorkAbility III services and can request a referral to WorkAbility III from their DOR Counselor.  DOR consumers must be willing to enroll in a DVC course to be eligible for WorkAbility III services.

  • Employability "soft skills" coaching
  • Campus and community resources
  • Strategies to address disability-related concerns
  • Workshops on a variety of job-search related topics
  • Individualized meetings with a WorkAbility III Employment Specialist
  • Post-placement follow-up services to assist in job retention

For Department of Rehabilitation Counselors:

Non-DVC students can be eligible!
Non-DVC students who are current DOR consumers can be referred to WorkAbility III but must be willing to enroll in a DVC course.

To begin the referral process, please complete and forward the referral form and disability verification by fax or US Mail.  Upon receipt, we will contact you regarding setting up an Intake Appointment.
