This course introduces basic principles of mapping and representation of spatial data using conventional and computerized cartographic techniques and is designed to develop a better understanding of maps, map design, and map-interpretation. Elements of map such as scale, distance, direction, and map projections as well as cartographic techniques of data analysis, processing, visualization, and representation are examined in detail.
